About The Hawk Investment Club
MISSION STATMENT
The Hawk Investment Club exists to further its member’s knowledge on the various investment methods and strategies in a team-oriented environment. The Hawk Investment Club seeks to gain portfolio value, engage members in intellectual discourse through presentations, club discussions, and guest speakers. The Hawk Investment Club will foster a positive social environment for networking, education, and fun.
STATEMENT OF PURPOSE
The Hawk Investment Club was founded in 2013 primarily as a way for students new to investing to gain experience and education with the Stock Market. The Hawk Investment Club will help make investing for students more understandable through the introduction and analysis of various investment methods and strategies. The Hawk Investment Club serves a purpose for students to pool their investment knowledge together and learn from one another. The Hawk Investment club uses a virtual trading portfolio via StockTrak and will have general meetings that are held weekly on Wednesday’s, from 2:00 – 3:00 PM in Van Den Berg Hall Room 221 (Trading Room).
MEMBERSHIP DUTIES
The Hawk Investment Club welcomes students of all majors. Previous knowledge of investing is not required. All members are entitled to one vote for each decision the club makes. The one vote that each member is entitled to can only be exercised if the member has attended the previous Hawk Investment Club meeting. The Hawk Investment Club will be organized into seven different sectors: Basic Materials, Consumer Goods, Financial, Healthcare, Industrial Goods, Services, and Technology. Each sector will have one elected group leader. Members who would like to request an investment or transaction must provide a brief presentation, Q & A, and must receive the majority of votes from The Hawk Investment Club Members. Members must notify club president forty eight hours prior to club meeting. Membership Duties are subject to change.
